Program Description:
Queer Migrations: Eastern Kentucky Edition

Credits: 4 Credits (ENG 2xxx) Term 3 course with travel over spring break

Instructors: Beck Banks (Assistant Professor of Communications)

Travel Dates: Spring break

 

Queer migration looks at the movement embedded in queerness from coming out politics to developing care structures to navigating life trajectories to understanding one's gender to seeking affirming healthcare. Putting theory into motion, this course takes students on the road to understanding the journeys of queer/trans life, one that is further enhanced by working with activists and organizations. The course incorporates podcasting and short videos to feature key players in queer/trans activists and to understand further what queer migration entails.
 
Course Fee: $225.00
*(Limited amounts of need-based financial aid available)

GPA Requirement: 2.5 minimum
