Program Description:
WWC-Approved Independent Internship Abroad

With proper planning, WWC students have the opportunity to complete a summer or semester-long internship abroad and earn Warren Wilson academic credit for their hours worked. Internships must be at least 6 weeks in length and must include at least 80 hours of time worked, and students must complete a learning contract in collaboration with an on-site supervisor who agrees to serve in this role. Upon return from the internship, students must enroll in the Academic Internship Seminar (CD1840 or CD1850) in order to receive academic credit for their internship experience. The class itself is worth 2 credits and students may be awarded an additional 1 credit for every 40 hours worked, for a maximum of 18 credits per term. Learning contracts for summer and fall internships are due to the Director of Internships in the CIAC by May 1st, and for spring internships by November 1st. Students must complete their application through the Office of International Programs by the relevant deadline in order to remain enrolled at the College and earn credit. A $450 administrative fee for study away will be billed to the student for the semester they are away.
