Overview – For Undergraduate & Post Baccalaureates

NYAP was founded by the Great Lakes College Association in 1967 and is managed by OHIO WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY.  NYAP is the premiere off-campus domestic program specializing in providing students with opportunities in the arts and creative industries. Deeply connected to its location in a global cultural capital the NYAP semester advances students’ creative and critical skills, and helps them define and launch on a professional path through:
  • Internships
  • Seminars that use NYC as an active resource
  • Professional Development Workshops
  • Program Individual advising
  • Community & events
  • And an independent urban living experience in New York City
Undergraduates receive academic credit transcripted by Ohio Wesleyan University for Internships, Seminars and Independent Projects.


Participating Majors

Students from all accredited colleges and universities are eligible to apply to NYAP.
A wide range of academic majors have benefitted from the program’s learning opportunities and internships including: Advertising/Marketing; Architecture; Studio Art; Art History; Arts Administration; Arts Education; Cinema/Film Studies; Communications; Dance; Digital Communications; English, Fashion Design; Graphic Communication; Journalism; Literature; Museum Studies; Music: Performance, Composition. Technology, and Business; Non-profit Management; Public Relations; Theatre: Performance, Design, Directing, Management, Visual Communication; and Writing.
