Germany:  University of Trier-Birkenfeld Environmental Campus

castlenearbirkenfeldWarren Wilson College's partnership with the Environmental Campus of the Trier University of Applied Sciences in Germany provides a special opportunity, particularly for science, business and environmental studies students.  With advance planning, students may also prepare research projects at WWC and continue them in Europe under the supervision of WWC and Birkenfeld faculty, in addition to attending courses.  Intermediate or better German language skills are recommended, although a few programs are offered in English.  Birkenfeld is located in the beautiful Mosel River area of western Germany, close to the borders of France and Luxembourg. In addition to Warren Wilson academic tuition, students studying abroad on exchange programs should expect to pay an additional $1,500 - $5,500 for travel, housing, and meals.  Students should also inquire about their eligibility to receive funding support from International Programs Office towards their travel and housing expenses on this program. Most student are eligible to receive between $500-$2,000. There is a $75 non-refundable application fee and an international program fee of $400.
